My Background
As a former Special Education teacher and mom, I seldom had time to explore art in the past. After buying a second home in Florida with a thriving art community, I discovered fused glass and dove in! Currently, I serve as a volunteer fused glass teacher in the winter and enjoy my fused glass studio and gardens in Connecticut the summers.
My Medium
The possibility of changing sheets of glass into pieces of art continues to both fascinate and challenge me. Typically, I sketch an idea, cut and layer glass pieces, and fire it in kiln for 24 hours. Many of my pieces have multiple firings in order to slump and to accommodate cold working additions.
